Two Item Review

On Casino Royale:

1.) Daniel Craig does an admirable job filling Bond's dinner jacket, and an even more admirable job taking it off, however

2.) James Bond should not, I repeat, should not ever, even for a moment, drive a Ford Mondeo.

I have to agree with you there, he knocks that Brosnan fellow into a cocked hat. And the Welshman before him. It was a long wait, but worth it for the right replacement. Best Bond and best Bond movie in decades.

Yes, the Mondeo scene made me wince more than the chair and knotted-rope scene.

According to BBC 'Top Gear' there were in fact fewer Ford Mondeos sold in Britain last year than BMW 3-series', and incredibly, there were fewer Mondeo ST220s sold in the UK last year than Aston Martin DB9s. Which means from an exclusivity point of view, the Mondeo is the car of choice. Despite this, you are absolutely right, Bond must drive an Aston, or failing that, a Lotus (and even then only with Barbara Bach by his side).

Apologies for the comment being longer than your original post. Good post - concise and accurate :)

You're right. It should have been a Focus. Everyone knows that the Focus is the pinacle of sporty sophistication.

(PS - this was my first Bond movie and I actually left the theater during the knotted rope scene, which was after I fell asleep during the "World Series of Poker" marathon in the middle. I'm so NOT a Bond girl.)
